You're in one of three places right now in 2018. You've either had a great year and exceeded your goals, you haven't had the best year, or you maybe just wandered along through the year. Now that we're nearing the end of the year many people slow down, but I'm here to tell you to avoid that to have a productive 2019!
Our industry is very dynamic and you need to recognize that you need to keep working and grinding. Be relentless in your pursuit.
Maybe you haven't had such a great year, maybe you just wander into the year or got off track. There is a strategy that I recommend.
Think of this as pre-season training, now is the time to get things happening. Think of this as a 15 month year. We almost give up and wait for January to happen, but now it's time to break that habit.
Be very clear about what you want to accomplish. Pull out your business plans and goals and see what you need to accomplish.
If you take your foot off the gas, you're going to think you're on vacation for the next 90 days and it will come back to bite you in the butt when 2019 hits.
Remember this business is all about habits and behaviors. Do you do what you need to do every day to be successful?
If you need to talk to people...how many?
If you need to set up meetings...how many?
You need to be extremely detailed.
What does more mean? What does better mean?
Quantify your results. If you need to talk between 10 -15 people a day between clients and prospects - your brain can get around that and make a plan.
Remember, a confused human being cannot take action!
If you're struggling the first thing you need to do is to be honest with yourself. Whenever you make a decision find some sort of level where you can take action.
Let's have an uncomfortable day...what does that mean? Push yourself.
Think about this... you can be a totally dysfunctional human being and make six figures in our industry. Now imagine if you can harness that. Imagine if you can figure something out and move that needle.
The big difference between a person making six figures and seven figures in our industry is their mindset.
If you're not where you want to be in your career or business the good news is you are the cause of it and you are the solution to it, but don't sit here and lie to yourself.
Don't sit there and have the same conversation you've had with yourself for the last 10 or 20 years.
Maybe it's time for a different dynamic and to get uncomfortable.
I vowed for my entire adult life to not get a personal trainer and now I work out harder than I did in my 30s because I got a personal trainer.
Sometimes all of us need that extra voice with that thumb in our back to push us.
We are in the beginnings of the next window where we have a vast majority of baby boomers retiring.
This is the time to make your mark in the industry. There is no better time to be in this industry than now.
